Band biography
Sven wanted to start a band of his own for a really long time. He attracted Sacha and Franziska, who played bass at the Inchtabokatables. They played a bit around, but Franzi didn't like it. When he quit, he was replaced by Martin. They tried, and it worked. Dietmar had done nothing but reading books for a year, thinking about life and singing a bit. When Martin asked him if he knew a good singer, he said there
were no good singers, except him. The band was complete.
The first songs were recorded in the winter of 1991 in the Schönhauser Allee 5, which Sven built together with Paul from Feeling B. Paul didn't have time after that, so Seba mixed the songs.
Record companies that were confronted by ODG's recordings, didn't respond immediately. The band itsself didn't worry about that. "Songs need time to become good. We're more of a live band, really. Otherwise you're under pressure to make a 'good album', and to lose your own quality. We want to be sure our first album will be a good one."
Information taken from an interview with Orgasm Death Gimmics in Messitsch, a former GDR youth magazine, approximately 1992.
